Join playa experts for an in-person workshop to learn about Colorado’s playas. This combination field and classroom training will take place in Holyoke, Colorado, on July 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The training will cover playa soils, hydrology, aquifer recharge, and common vegetation, as well as how playas fit into the larger landscape and how to identify them in the field.
If you are a biologist, conservationist, restoration practitioner, private landowner, rancher, or anyone working in playa country, you are invited to join us. Lunch will be provided. Additional details including the exact location will be shared closer to the date of the workshop.
For questions about the workshop, contact Anna Greenberg. Space is limited, so please RSVP.
Workshop partners include Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Ducks Unlimited, Playa Lakes Joint Venture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Kansas State University, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Ogallala Commons, and Palmer Land Conservancy .
